FERRIES
There are plenty of car and passenger ferries to make use of in Croatia a trip on a ferry is a great way to see more of the country. You can also catch a Hydrofoil if you don't want to take the car and want a fast transfer. Hydrofoil is called "Fast-line" and will take you from, say, Split to Vela Luka on Korcula in 1 hour 45 mins. The main ferry company for Croatia is called Jadrolinija. You can view their routes on a map or in tabular form.
If you can't get a reasonably priced flight into Dubrovnik, why not just fly into Split and meander down the coast on a ferry? It's only a few hours between Split and Dubrovnik - there's usually a bar on board and you can leave your car below deck - it's altogether very pleasant! Just sit on deck with a glass of vino and enjoy watching the islands go by!
