"With regard to the service I received from yourselves, it couldn't have been bettered. I received excellent customer service and all queries were answered promptly and efficiently. I dealt with Andy in pretty much most of the correspondence and he was always more than helpful and made the whole experience stress free, which is what is required to the build-up to a holiday. Gold star. The villa itself was beautiful and was a true reflection of the pictures from your website. The scenery was breathtaking. In fact, the whole of Croatia is just beautiful. By far the most beautiful place I've visited and would highly recommend. I've never swam in such a warm and crystal clear sea. I wish I was still there in fact. Despite what I've read regarding the prices, I found it to be pleasantly cheap paying around £2 for a pint of Croatia's finest Ojuzskovo(?) beer. A lovely beer may I add...The owners of the villa were lovely and helpful and visited us on a daily basis to check everything was ok, which was a nice touch. If we had any issues or wanted any information, they were more than helpful on every occasion. The people we met were nice and friendly, with a large percentage of them being English speaking, hich always makes life easier. If you do visit Croatia, I highly recommend a visit to Cavtat, which is amazingly stunning. All in all, it was an amazing holiday made much easier by your wonderful service". Kim G

"We really enjoyed our holiday in Croatia. This was our first visit to the country and we will definitely return there some time in the future. We have travelled extensively, and can say that Dubrovnik and the surrounding areas are probably the most beautiful places we have ever been. Villa Kate also met most of our expectations, but a couple of points are worth noting:
As the Villa is on a steep hillside, the views are spectacular, but a car is essential for anyone staying there…. the couple who owned the Villa were very friendly, and could not do enough to welcome us. All in all, a very enjoyable holiday" Peter K

l just wanted to thank you for all your assistance in the lead up to our holiday. All 9 of us ladies had a fab time and Villa Kate was just perfect and just what we were looking for. We really couldn’t of found anywhere more perfect – the hill climbing up and down to the village was a little hairy but was good for our legs. Danijel our taxi driver who picked us up from the airport was outstanding, he helped us with booking some amazing restaurants and was 100% reliable, so please pass this on. As we were all so impressed and it just added to our enjoyment as we didn’t need to worry about transport or recommendations. "We had a fantastic holiday thank you! From the start, Denise was very helpful and understanding of our situation and so I was very pleased with the customer service I received from yourselves. I loved Croatia and Summer Villa was beautiful..... it was everything I had hoped for our holiday and more. The villa, being 16th century was of stunning character and had been renovated beautifully.... I loved the whole inside of the house and it suited all our needs (all 10 of us perfectly), I loved the walled courtyard garden with the lovely flowers and BBQ and spent most evenings sat outside here enjoying the local wine! The pool was perfect and we spent many hours in there - I also liked that we could shut the gate out to the pool so our toddlers couldn’t just wander out there without an adult present. It was such a beautiful peaceful place to spend time, I didn't want to leave! Nikolina was amazing... she was the perfect host and I really liked her. She welcomed us with food, wine and liqueur that she had made. She took us to show us all the local facilities and places to go. She went over and beyond what she had to, to make us feel welcome and to help us in any way we needed. She told us about places to visit, she arranged for our hire car to be changed when we had problems with it, she even made a birthday cake for my son's 3rd birthday! Then gave us all a lovely glass gift showing a picture of the villa when we left.I would recommend Croatia, Croatia Gems and Summer Villa to anybody and hope I have the opportunity to return there one day! “I am glad to report that we had a wonderful week in Croatia. The weather was fantastic (which of course helped) but the best part of our trip was undoubtedly Summer Villa and particularly our hosts who went the extra mile to make our stay so relaxing. Despite having four children under four, we had opted not to hire a car (from an expense point of view)…Our hosts also drove us to the big hyper market to do a large shop and looked after us so well, showing us all the walks to the beach etc, cooking us a meal on our last night and making sure we were ok. They also offered us use of the car for a fee if we needed it. Location wise, we soon discovered the bus stops at the bottom of the hill and we were in Dubrovnik in about 10 mins. The villa is on a hill and has stunning views down to the sea. It is beautiful inside the villa and you can comfortably spend the time at the villa enjoying the views, pool and gardens…The nearest beach is not Mlini, which is a little walk away along the promenade, but are in fact beaches near some war torn hotels which were once some of the best in Croatia. To get to Mlini by foot you can either walk a little way along the main road and then turn off the village before and join the esplanade, or you walk passed the war torn hotels to the beach and join the esplanade a little earlier (which some people may find a little off putting but which we found fascinating). Transport wise, probably it is best to have a car or use of a car, but in fact the main road with buses to and from Dubrovnik is very close and you could get water taxis from Mlini to Dubrovnik and other places along the coast. This was such a wonderful way to travel with children and to be honest this really made our holiday. That and the delightful people who clearly love children. I am so glad we booked this Villa and we will definitely be going back to Croatia very soon. Kolocep Villa
"1. Service was excellent and all transfers etc were very smooth.
2. Villa was lovely - clean, spacious and Robert the owner was friendly and helpful. His Dalmatian fish dinner on the last night was excellent. It was a steep 10 minute walk to/from the beach and village but very pleasant. Had everything you needed - washing machine, two bathrooms, lovely garden complete with 5 wild tortoises which the kids loved.
3. Island was lovely - relaxing and quiet which was what we wanted but may be too quiet for some. Only limited restaurants and facilities. Shop only had very basics - not a lot of fresh produce so if you are self catering really needed to shop in Dubrovnik. Robert had left some supplies - wine, beer, toast, water, pasta, fresh pesto etc though which was very much appreciated and replaced at the end of our stay.
4. Beach was clean and very safe for the children - sandy and shallow for a quite a long way out.
5. Ferry connections good to Dubrovnik and other islands.
6. Generally very good first family holiday to Croatia - easy flight, quick transfers and reasonably priced." Catherine C.

"We found the villa on the internet with a little help from Denise, I had explained what we needed and the make up of our very strange group. (who have been holidaying together for 15 years or so!). Croatian Gems were excellent at responding to our numerous calls and emails for clarification and things to do. The villa was fabulous, even in May we had excellent weather and were able to take advantage of the whole area, Matko was always on had to look after our needs and we had a brilliant time on the days boat, swimming off the boat and eating fresh fish. The ferry and buses suited us fine with only the occasional need for a taxi or boat lift! Swimming straight from the villa was amazing, just knowing you could run back in for a cold drink or warm towel if cooler. The sunsets were amazing too! Trogir and Split are both wonderful places to visit, in fact we'd love to be there again now! Is the villa available in mid September or will the weather have changed do you think by then? We have elderly folk who would love it too! All the best" Natalie F

"We had a great time in Croatia. We liked Mlini and the villa we stayed in was extremely comfortable and probably above our expectations in most respects. As we were a party of 4 (two couples) the villa was pretty spacious for us. We did some boat tours and also some car excursions further afield but overall you didn’t need a car for this villa location. Dubrovnik was perfect at the time we went, busy but not overrun I guess it gets a little overcrowded in July/August. The other thing we liked was staying a few miles outside Dubrovnik which for us was perfect as we away from all the tourist hubbub but close enough to take the bus or boat in when we wanted.... the beach is 3 mins across the street so we liked the location a lot!" “We had a fantastic holiday! The location of the villa was perfect - near Trogir but away from the hustle and bustle. It was nice that many of the other holidaymakers on Ciovo were Croatians. We explored most of the beaches on Ciovo and the snorkelling was fabulous. The apartment was also spot on - with enough space for all well provided with most of the necessary day to day equipment. Robert, the owner, was extremely helpful as were his family who were staying in the other apartments. The people we met were all very friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing Croatia for the first time! We did a day trip on the ferries to Hvar - our son had visited there two years ago and wanted to go back - although it was a very long way to go it was worthwhile to see how beautiful it is. We also went on a Fish Picnic booked through your rep....All in all everyone agreed that it was a brilliant two weeks. Thank you for all your help. “We have just returned from our holiday and I just had to email you to let you know what a fantastic time we had in Bosanka, at the Villa Bosanka. We absolutely loved the apartment, the villa, and the owner, Mirjana, who could not do enough for us! She was on holiday, too, so was around a lot, and even started cooking us delicious delicacies, totally beyond the call of duty! She cried when we were leaving yesterday, as she had become fond of us and didn't want us to go - and neither did we!
For the first week we were the only guests, so had the place to ourselves, which was an added bonus. The views, the climate, Dubrovnik town - it was all perfect, and we were even more pleased with our choice after we had driven around some of the resorts we saw in various mass-holiday brochures we had looked at before discovering Croatia Gems, so we felt extremely smug with our choice! We cannot recommend the villa highly enough, and hope that you will persuade future clients to go there! “Wish I could say "it's good to be back (in the UK)" - but I can't! We had such a good holiday in Molunat - everything was just great. We loved the little village, so un-spoilt and we enjoyed the company of … the people who worked at the Villa and restaurant. It was great fun. We had about 4 meals or so at the restaurant and had the most fantastic prawns!! The weather was perfect throughout - maybe a trifle hot but we're not complaining about that considering the problems over here during the last week. We went to Montenegro one day - and … we couldn't wait to get back to Molunat!! We visited Korcula and Mljet and, of course, Dubrovnik which was just fabulous. “My partner and I had a fab time; the apartment was located in a fantastic position just outside the city walls (Dubrovnik Old Town) within walking distance to the beach, local restaurants and shops. Before booking this apartment we were a little worried that being outside the city would be a problem but upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised at how close it was (2 mins) and in fact it worked better being outside the city as we managed to get away from the crowds. “ K Willard (2007)
